César Cruz received his Doctorate in Architecture from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in August 2016. As a graduate student teacher and adjunct faculty, he has taught history and theory, building structures, and design in Illinois, Indiana, and New Mexico. His principal research area is architectural phenomenology, especially notions of dwelling and place in the works of modern and contemporary architects, philosophers, and geographers, among other writers and thinkers. Of particular interest to him is how architectural phenomenology relates to matters of architectural history as well as to our contemporary, urban, and high-tech world.
